Fire Puja with Rinpoche at Bukau

The date was 13 May 2012. In this post, I am going to share my Buddhism life. I am just sharing my knowledge and if i gave wrong information please forgive me as I am also in the learning process. This post might sound boring to some of my readers but I just felt that I want to blog it. :D

My aunt Bee is very lucky to have the opportunity to invite a Tibetan Rinpoche to come our old house at Kampung Bukau to do Fire Puja. Usually, tibetan monk is known as Lama. But Rinpoche is more higher in stage than ordinary Lama. 

General information to readers, there are three major types of Buddhism in the world, Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrana. 

My aunt told me that my family is practicing Mahayana Buddhism. Translation in my own words, Theravada is the old Buddhism practice the old history of the buddhas such as in Thailand, Mahayana is such as practicing buddhas wisdom in daily modern life such as Msia and Taiwan. Vajrana is more to magic and rituals such as the Tibetan. Well, this is based on my understanding lah. All of these three major Buddhism have many small division. But basically all have the same target.

According to Aunt Bee, there are many types of Fire Puja. Most people did Fire Puja to increase their wealth. However, there are certain people that do Fire Puja to dispel the black magic cast of them. Well, translate in malay "kena buatan orang lain, toyol etc." translate in chinese "jiang tou".

So that day, we wish to disperse all the evil spirit that may approaching us. Sounds creepy ho?

Rinpoche is preparing the flour to do some "pagoda".

This is it. Very campin' o kan? 

All of these "pagodas" have their own function in the ceremony.

These offering have their own meaning.

Flower - Beauty

If you offer many flowers in the temple to the Buddhas, the next life you will be born pretty.

That is the karma means.

and....pity me.

I only know flower represent beauty.

Others offering such as rice, light, tea, water, fruits. 

I forgot what it mean.

Going to consult Aunt Bee next time.

Offering have lots of advantage.

No matter you offer to your own people or other races.

The karma is very big.

Some people are being stingy their whole life, they may have save up that RM5 not to help other people. But in their life after 5 years, 10 years, next reincarnation....

their loss is bigger than that RM5.

Other offering.

All these offering represent long health, good wealth, wisdom and so on.

General information, offering are not given in meat form.

People have misunderstood that when they saw Chinese ceremony, 

they concluded it as Buddhism.

In Buddhism, there is no ayam or pork offering.

All vegetable and fruits.

Rinpoche starts the opening ceremony.

Chinese knows well that we have the God of Land.

God of Land is to control everything happen on the land.

So before starting any ceremony, 

the Rinpoche may need to ask permission from the God of Land to borrow their land.

Asking permission as well as protection from the God of Land while conducting the ceremony.

After the opening, Rinpoche starts the Fire Puja ceremony.

The food offering is throw into the fire.

If you wonder why....

Fire Puja is to offer food to the spirit.

The theory is such as...

The food offering have been blessed by Rinpoche.

During Fire Puja, spirit are invited from all direction to come eat these offering.

Normally, the spirit will not full by eating food such as at road side etc (*like u saw in movie).

So this ceremony invite them come eat.

Why give them food eat, we will disperse black magic?

Because we give them food to eat that blessed by Rinpoche.

As I mention earlier, Rinpoche pangkat is higher than normal people.

The blessed food will reduce spirit bad karma so that they will early leave reincarnation of spirit.

If we help them to become human again faster, we have done a very good deed.

These good deed by the help of Rinpoche can help to turn to dispel the black magic.

Which in normal day, we cannot do it without the help of Rinpoche as a religious leader.

So basically...

to help the spirit is to help ourself in dispel the black magic.

You want something, You have to give something in return.

Yes. This is the theory that i basically understand from my Aunt Bee.
